RESTORATION 1949 D1 - PART 1

As found - early 1999

APRIL 1999
As found. 1949 Engine and frame.Probably incorrect rear guard. No toolbox. Very bad condition. Don't know if engine turns over.

THE ENGINE!
A curious hybrid of the old 125cc head and possibly a wide-fin D1 barrel of later vintage. An original barrel came with the bike but will need some work.

THE SPARKY SIDE
Original D1 electrics. Modification (the screw-top petrol can cover) is non-standard! The alloy clip fastened cover may be difficult to find as they had a tendency to fall off.
