| Some History | |||
| In 1973 Benelli was acquired by Argentinian industrialist Alejandro de Tomaso. New ownership saw the company leap (briefly) ahead of the Japanese as the public eagerly accepted the new Benelli multi-cylinder bikes. The 350 Quattro, the 500 Quattro and the amazing six-cylinder 750 Sei were successes in their day and are rightly regarded as classics today.
Sadly, the 250 2C twin cylinder two strokes - and their badge engineered cousins the Moto Guzzi 250TS - have never enjoyed the same success or respect. Despite a production life of over a decade they were technologically inferior to the Japanese opposition and plagued by electrical problems. However, they possess stunning race-bred handling, are equipped with the very best Italian componentry and the fabulous de Tomaso styling makes them a most attractive bike more than thirty years after their release.
